Koku's name means 'black' in Japanese. She's originally from China, but she
prefers the Japanese version of her name.

Koku's original being was not human. She died once in her original form, but having learned great and largely unfathomable magics (to humans anyway), she
was reborn as a human with all her memories of her previous life and her powers still intact. 

She has been called 'the Black Butterfly', the 'Celestial Flower' and things less complimentary. She allows humans to think what they will of what she is and they often mistake her for a Fey, a witch or something else. 

Only a handful of persons know what she truly is. Koku is very practiced at 'acting the part' of anything you might think she is - and is always convincing. She can be sweet and innocent, or a formidable and deadly foe.

If you're observant of her slim muscular body and a few file names, you might discern what her true race is!

Her favorite color is purple, by the way.
